Teisendorf - a "market city"
The city of Teisendorf, a "market city", is a traditional settlement center that has grown throughout history, situated in the heart of the Ruperti Corner. In the Development Program of the State of Bavaria, Teisendorf is classified as a regional sub-center. Its central location in the middle of the newly created EUREGIO Salzburg - Berchtesgadener Land - Traunstein certainly represents a site advantage. Recognized economic experts consider Salzburg with its surroundings to be one of the fastest growing development regions in modern Europe. Lying on the supra-regional development axis Munich - Salzburg, Teisendorf is particularly attractive for the settlement of businesses.
The Salzburg airport is a mere 20 kilometers away. There is direct connection to the federal freeway A8 via the junction points Neukirchen at Teisenberg and Anger. Furthermore, it possesses excellent connections via federal highway 304, that is directly tangent to the main community sectors Teisendorf and Oberteisendorf. Moreover, Teisendorf is a station on the railroad line Munich - Salzburg.
On a long-term basis, the number of residents of the community Teisendorf will continue to grow due to the expansion of the overall community and growth in the new building zones to a total of about 10,000 residents. Especially in the center of Teisendorf substantially large residential and commercial zones are being created by the increase in the density of the central area.
The belt-line road around Teisendorf that was completed in July 2000 will contribute immensely to its attractiveness as a shopping center. Continuing schools are to be found in the close vicinity in the surrounding cities of Traunstein, Bad Reichenhall, Freilassing and Laufen; they can easily be reached by bus or train. Shopping opportunities are afforded by specialized retail stores and boutiques and also include large-scale shopping centers. Middle-sized trades are well represented here as well as a wide array of service enterprises. Possibilities for recreational activities are regarded highly in Teisendorf. Over 70 clubs and organizations, besides offering the possibility of meaningful, individual activities, also afford the opportunity of integrating newcomers into the social structure of the market city quickly and without difficulties. With their activities, they contribute essentially to the general harmonious, cultural and social life of the residents. Many occasions for festivals and celebrations throughout the calendar year are the expression of the consciousness for culture and customs of the local population and decisively assure, besides its location in the middle of one of the most beautiful vacation areas of Bavaria, the high quality of living of the community of Teisendorf.
