Description of location

The City of Landshut - a site with tradition and progress

Landshut, a city noted for its 800-year-old history, its monuments and art treasures, is making a name for itself not only because of its historical past. The economic site, the city of Landshut, is a powerful and future-oriented investment region in the middle of Bavaria.

The high-ranking central city of Landshut (37 miles northeast of Munich) with its seat of government and many prominent businesses, forms the administrative and economic center of Lower Bavaria. The city of Landshut is a member of the Munich Metropolitan Region Initiative (MMR).

62,000 residents live within the city itself and the immediately surrounding economic region of Landshut has 420,000 inhabitants, who are oriented to the government capital city. The overall significance of the city will increase because the dynamics in the environment of the densely populated area of Munich will continue to grow. The city of Landshut lies within the commuter belt around the Munich Airport (travel time 20 minutes by car) and profits from the development there.

Attractive commercial sites have been set aside at the economic site of Landshut that offer optimum prerequisites for investors. The city administration has pledged itself to carry out special measures of trade promotion and is able to offer investors the best possible conditions for their individual needs within the city. Outstanding traffic connections and service provision (e.g. high bit-rate broadband technology) distinguish the industrial park in the city of Landshut.

It is the goal of the city to acquire still more jobs for the residents of the city and to safeguard the economic strength of the region of Landshut in order to be able to react adequately to the present situation and the challenges of today's world.
